Beginning May 2021, we will allow a small number of volunteers to return to the Center in person. We serve a very vulnerable population and are doing everything we can to keep them safe during this pandemic.
If you are a volunteer, we miss you! And we can’t wait until the day when we can all be together again. We are reintroducing volunteers in phases, starting with a very small number of weekly music volunteers. Please be patient with us. These phases will occur SLOWLY. Currently, only fully vaccinated adults will be allowed to return to in-person volunteering. No groups. No individuals who participate in a congregate setting (such as schools, colleges, and hospitals).
Q: Who can volunteer?
A: Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Youth 8th grade and younger must be accompanied by a guardian.
Q: When can I volunteer?
A: The Center is open Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. Volunteer weekly, monthly, or as needed for special events. Whatever you can give is valuable and much appreciated. (There are very limited weekend and evening volunteer opportunities.)
Q: What opportunities are available?
A: Volunteers can work directly with clients. Activities might include art, games, music, manicures, gardening, devotions, and social time. Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning, maintenance, and front desk reception.
Also, we need volunteers, who are 18 and up, to help with fundraising events. If you have a special skill, we would be happy to work with you to find the best way to use your talents in volunteering.
