Volunteer

Welcome, future volunteers!

Currently, only fully vaccinated individuals (at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses) will be allowed to return to in-person volunteering. Our Volunteer Orientations are usually scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Center, unless otherwise specified. Registration must be done through the Volunteer Odyssey website (link below). If you volunteered with us before the pandemic, you will be required to attend volunteer training again, as so much has changed. We can’t wait to see you!

FAQs

Q: Who can volunteer?

A: Anyone 6th grade and older can volunteer. Middle schoolers must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old for Volunteer Orientation and all volunteer shifts.

Q: When can I volunteer?

A: You can volunteer 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the client area or 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the front office. Volunteer weekly, monthly, or as needed for special events. Whatever you can give is valuable and much appreciated. There are very limited weekend and evening volunteer opportunities. Volunteers usually stay for 1 to 2 hours, and volunteer slots must be scheduled in advance.

Q: What opportunities are available?

A: Volunteers can work directly with clients. Activities might include art, games, music, manicures, gardening, devotions, and social time. Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning, maintenance, and front desk reception.

Also, we need volunteers, who are 18 and up, to help with fundraising events. If you have a special skill, we would be happy to work with you to find the best way to use your talents in volunteering.
